You don’t get more ‘Merican than by celebrating the 4th of July with some red, white, and blue…grass.

The Grateful Ball will not only bring legendary musicians together, but one could say the origin of its name may be legendary as well, as it possibly came from Ronnie McCoury’s reference at DelFest in 2015 just before playing “Loser” by the Grateful Dead. Apparently, the one and only Jerry Garcia told The Travelin’ McCourys that in 1963, when he witnessed the son’s father (better known as Del McCoury) play, he claimed “That’s the picture in my mind when I hear the Bluegrass Boys.”

Now, you can catch this legendary celebration as The Travelin’ McCourys and Jeff Austin Band bring the gratitude to Texas for 4th of July weekend. Watch as these two acts play history right before your eyes, both playing full sets before wrapping up with a special, collaborative Dead set.

Warm up for this weekend with Cumberland Blues by The Travelin’ McCourys.

Grab tickets for the Houston show at the Last Concert Cafe on 7/1 here, and tickets for the Austin show at Empire Control Room on 7/4 here. See y’all there!
